# Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your reservation and stay at The Lighthouse Inn, and your use of our phone, SMS, and website services.
## Reservations and payment
– A valid credit card is required to hold any reservation.
– For same-day reservations, your card is charged when the reservation is made.
– For most future reservations, your card is charged on the morning of arrival.
– All rates are quoted in U.S. dollars and include applicable taxes and fees.
## Cancellations and modifications
– Direct reservations (booked by phone or via our website) may be modified or canceled by contacting us. Specific cancellation terms are stated at the time of booking.
– Reservations made through third-party booking sites (Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com, etc.) must be modified or canceled through that site directly.
## Hotel rules
– **Pets**: Dogs are welcome with a $20 pet fee. We do not accept cats.
– **Check-in / check-out**: Standard check-in is 4:00 PM, standard check-out is 11:00 AM. Late check-out may be available on request, depending on availability.
– **Smoking**: All rooms are nonsmoking. A cleaning fee applies if smoking is detected in a room.
– **Damage**: Guests are responsible for any damage to the room or contents during their stay.
## Phone and SMS communications
If you provide a phone number to us, the following applies:
– **Calls**: Our reservation line is staffed by a combination of human staff and an AI voice assistant. Calls may be recorded for quality, training, and dispute-resolution purposes; you are notified at the start of any recorded call.
– **SMS**: We send transactional text messages — for example, room and door-code information for self-check-in, payment links, and booking confirmations — only after you request them or otherwise authorize SMS contact during a call or booking.
– **Frequency**: Typically 1–5 messages per stay; we do not send marketing or promotional SMS.
– **Charges**: Message and data rates may apply. Your wireless carrier sets these rates.
– **Opt-out**: Reply **STOP** to any of our messages to stop further SMS.
– **Help**: Reply **HELP** to any message, or call (541) 991-5070, for assistance.
– **Mobile information sharing**: Your phone number and SMS opt-in status are used only for communications related to your stay. We do not share or sell mobile information to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
## AI voice assistant
Our reservation phone line may be answered by an AI voice assistant. The assistant identifies itself as such at the start of each call. You may request to speak with a human at any time and we will transfer you to the front desk.
## Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Lighthouse Inn is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your stay, our services, or your use of this website. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the reservation in question.
## Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Lane County, Oregon.
## Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent revision.
